Repurpose Solar, LLC (“Repurpose Solar,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) provides solar panel recycling, hauling, and responsible disposal services to both individual homeowners and commercial clients. We operate at repurposesolar.net.

This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, share, and protect personal information. We have designed our website to collect the minimum amount of information necessary: we only receive personal information when you choose to submit a contact or service request form. We do not collect passive browsing data, analytics, cookies, or tracking information from website visitors.

Who This Policy Covers: This Policy applies to all individuals who interact with Repurpose Solar, including: (1) individual residential customers requesting panel pickup or recycling services; and (2) employees, owners, or representatives of commercial clients such as solar installers, contractors, fleet operators, and property managers. Under CCPA/CPRA, the personal information of individuals in both categories is protected regardless of whether they are acting in a personal or professional capacity.

Repurpose Group Context: Repurpose Solar is a subsidiary of Repurpose Group. This Policy applies solely to Repurpose Solar. Our affiliated entities maintain separate privacy policies.

2. Information We Collect

We collect personal information only when you voluntarily submit a form on our website. We do not collect IP addresses, browser data, device information, page visit history, time on page, or any other passive browsing data. We do not use cookies, analytics tools, advertising pixels, or any tracking technologies on our website.

When you submit a contact or service request form on repurposesolar.net, we collect only the information you choose to provide. Depending on the form, this may include:

For Individual / Residential Customers:

  • Service location address
  • Details about the panels you are recycling (quantity, brand, condition, approximate age)
  • Preferred pickup timing or other service preferences
  • Any additional information you include in a message field

For Commercial / Business Clients:

  • Business name and type of operation

  • Service location(s) and project scope
  • Volume and type of panels for recycling or hauling
  • Any additional information you include in a message field

2.2 Environmental & Operational Data (Service Clients)

Once you become a service client, we may also collect and retain information necessary to fulfill and document your recycling or disposal service, including:

  • Panel manifests and disposal records
  • Chain-of-custody documentation for recycled materials
  • Photographs of panel condition at time of pickup
  • Waste characterization or TCLP test results where applicable

We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your information for advertising, behavioral profiling, or automated decision-making.

4. How We Share Your Information

We share your information in only four limited circumstances, described below. We do not sell your personal information, share it for advertising purposes, or disclose it to any party not necessary to operate our services.

4.1 Infrastructure & Payment Vendors

Form submissions on repurposesolar.net are processed through Vercel, our website hosting provider. Payment invoicing is handled through Stripe. Both receive only the minimum information necessary to perform their function:

4.2 Certified Recycling & Disposal Partners

To fulfill your recycling or disposal service, we work with DTSC-permitted recycling facilities and haulers. We may share your service address, panel manifest, and relevant contact information with these partners solely for the purpose of completing your service. All disposal partners are contractually required to handle your information confidentially.

4.3 Legal & Regulatory Disclosure

We may be required to share certain records — including chain-of-custody documentation, disposal manifests, and service records — with regulatory authorities such as the California DTSC or EPA as required by law. We may also disclose information in response to a subpoena, court order, or government request, or where necessary to protect our rights or the safety of others.

4.4 Business Transfers

In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets involving Repurpose Solar or Repurpose Group, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you via email or a prominent notice on our website at least 30 days before your information becomes subject to a different privacy policy.

5. Cookies & Tracking Technologies

Repurpose Solar does not use cookies, analytics tools, advertising pixels, or any tracking technologies on repurposesolar.net. We do not collect passive browsing data of any kind. The only information we receive is what you actively submit through a form.

Our website may use essential session cookies solely to enable form submission functionality. These cookies do not track your behavior, are not used for advertising or analytics, and expire when you close your browser. No cookie consent banner or opt-out mechanism is required for essential-only cookies.

Future Changes: If we ever add analytics tools, advertising pixels, or other tracking technologies to our website, we will update this Privacy Policy, add a cookie consent mechanism, and notify users before those technologies go live.

8. Data Security

We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information, including:

No method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure. In the event of a data breach affecting your information, we will notify you as required by applicable California and federal law.

9. Email Communications (CAN-SPAM)

We may send transactional emails (service confirmations, invoices, scheduling updates) and, if you have opted in, marketing communications. In compliance with the CAN-SPAM Act:

  • We will include a valid physical mailing address in every commercial email
  • Every marketing email will include a clear and easy unsubscribe link
  • We will honor opt-out requests within 10 business days

10. Sensitive Information & Geolocation

When you submit a service request form, you provide the address where pickup or service will occur. For routing and scheduling purposes, this may constitute precise geolocation data under CPRA. We use service location data solely to schedule and fulfill your service request. We do not use it for advertising, profiling, or any other purpose without your explicit consent.

11. Third-Party Links

Our website may contain links to third-party sites not operated by Repurpose Solar. This Privacy Policy does not apply to those sites. We encourage you to review the privacy policy of any third-party site you visit.

12. Children’s Privacy

Our services are not directed at individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. 15. Privacy Rights for Residents of Other States

Repurpose Solar operates across multiple states. While this Privacy Policy is written to comply with California law (CCPA/CPRA) — currently the most comprehensive consumer privacy framework in the United States — we extend the same privacy rights to residents of all states where comparable privacy laws are in effect.
